Asgi asks the Government for transparency"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Today\nASGI (through the Sciabaca and Oruka projects) has submitted to the\nItalian Government a request for access to information regarding the\nfinancing of one million euro granted to the UNHCR for an\nextraordinary evacuation action towards Rwanda of asylum seekers and\nrefugees detained in detention camps in Libya. This is an\nunprecedented operation, as Rwanda is not an origin, transit or\ndestination country for migrants involved.<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>\nGiven the instability of the Libyan context and\nthe extreme vulnerability of the persons concerned, ASGI intends to\nanalyze the requested information and documents that the Government\nwill disclose, to understand what activities are carried out and\nabove all the guarantees for the beneficiaries\u2019 fundamental rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nloan is part of the so-called &#8220;Africa Fund&#8221;, through which\nItaly has financed a series of measures aimed at limiting migration\nflows from Libya since 2017.
