What are the tools envisaged for their protection and what is their effectiveness? How have interception and rescue methods in the Mediterranean changed and in what direction are they evolving? What are the responsibilities of Italy for the crimes that take place in Libya?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Five years after the signing of the Memorandum of cooperation between Italy and Libya, Amnesty International Italia and ASGI organize a conference to address these issues.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The effects of the Memorandum were soon evident: if in 2016 there were over 180 thousand people who managed to escape from Libya, in 2019 only 11,471 people arrived in Italy by sea.
