The approval of the reform proposals associated with the Pact would in fact risk consolidating practices contrary to the best interests of these minors (such as detention and refoulement), as already experienced at the borders of several Member States, including Italy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-ugb-container ugb-container ugb-f142d39 ugb-container--v2 ugb-container--design-basic ugb-main-block\" id=\"\"><style>.ugb-f142d39-wrapper.ugb-container__wrapper{border-radius:24px !important;padding-top:0 !important;padding-bottom:0 !important;background-color:#eeeeee !important}.ugb-f142d39-wrapper > .ugb-container__side{padding-top:35px !important;padding-bottom:35px !important}.ugb-f142d39-content-wrapper.ugb-container__content-wrapper{width:100% !important}.ugb-f142d39-wrapper.ugb-container__wrapper:before{background-color:#eeeeee !important}.ugb-f142d39-content-wrapper > h1,.ugb-f142d39-content-wrapper > h2,.ugb-f142d39-content-wrapper > h3,.ugb-f142d39-content-wrapper > h4,.ugb-f142d39-content-wrapper > h5,.ugb-f142d39-content-wrapper > h6{color:#222222}.ugb-f142d39-content-wrapper > p,.ugb-f142d39-content-wrapper > ol li,.ugb-f142d39-content-wrapper > ul li{color:#222222}<\/style><div class=\"ugb-inner-block\"><div class=\"ugb-block-content\"><div class=\"ugb-container__wrapper ugb-f142d39-wrapper\"><div class=\"ugb-container__side\"><div class=\"ugb-container__content-wrapper ugb-f142d39-content-wrapper\">\n<p>Therefore, the document has a two-fold purpose: on the one hand, it seeks to draw attention to the illegitimate practices implemented at the external and internal borders and, on the other, it provides a critical interpretation of the possible reforms that would follow the adoption of the proposals in this Pact. It achieves this, especially in light of what is already happening in Italy, with specific reference to the situation of unaccompanied foreign minors.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>In conclusion, specific recommendations will be submitted to Italian authorities with the intention of contrasting the illegitimate practices we have encountered and of ensure the full compliance of border practices with minors\u2019 rights.
